Dry eye related contact lens problems: people may find contact lenses intolerable with dry eye. There are options now that can eliminate the problems.  New material with higher oxygen permeability and water content will improve comfort and custom designed contact lenses with the new computer aided technology will reduce cornea irritation and dryness.

For severe dry eyes patents, scleral lenses will dramatically increase comfort and vision.

Presbyopia problem: ( inability to focus at near after age 40).  Different designs of bifocal and multifocal contact lenses to suite various conditions and ages are now available.  Wave contact lenses are using patient's cornea topography to custom design the lens that will fit the best on one's cornea. Wave technology can be used to design Ortho-K lenes, multifocal lenes and larger diameter lenes for Keratoconus and irregular cornea.
Progressive myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism for children and adults.
Different designs of orthokeratology lenses are available to stop or slow down the progression. However, not all ortho-K lenses are the same. Well fitted and designed ortho-K lenses will potentially control myopia better and have better chance to stop its progression. When ortho-K are not well fitted on the eyes, they may potentially cause eye irritation.

High astigmatism can be better corrected with custom designed wave contact lens.

Irregular cornea (due to injury or surgery), Pulucid marginal degenration and keratoconus can be fitted with wave lenses and other scleral lenses designs.
